The first Cuba St Carnival on 21 February 1999 celebrated the distinctive artistic culture of Wellington’s most loved street with an audience of 15,000. The spectacular growth in popularity over 10 years now sees the event attract national and international interest, and audiences of 150,000, while keeping the eccentricity of Cuba St at its core.
