VEDST Theatre group has survived in doing a total of seven productions without full support of the government or the private sector. For this reason they have created what they call "personal sponsorship" reaching out people who would like to support contemporary theatre arts in turkey. They have founded their theatre space "Galata Perform" in where workshops, talks, rehearsals and the group's performances take place.
In 2005 they were awarded with the Nasit Ozcan Public Jury Award for the most contemporary theatre group, and in 2006 they received the Afife Jale Theatre award for the best playwright for "Limping Tales in Istanbul".
