4K cinema, the current state of the filmic art, will make you think you’re watching a live performance. The international CineGrid research initiative combines state-of-the-art recording, high-speed networks and ultra-sharp projection to record and deliver 4K across continents. Dutch organisations SURFnet, SARA, Universiteit van Amsterdam and Waag Society will open Europe’s first CineGrid node in 2008. See examples of 4K content, and meet PICNIC speakers!
