Pablo Alvarez's latest accountabilities as European Group Innovation Manager Group Marketing for lastminute.com (Travelocity - Sabre Holdings) included the development of ideas working with the lastminute.com labs unit, prototyping and monetising the ideas generated through “proof of concept” launch, progress checking all innovation investments, leading marketing plans around innovation and brand values at European level.
He has extensive international experience in mobile since 1993 (worked as International, Strategy and Marketing Director for one of the three biggest international mobile operators and as International and Project Director for a couple of well funded innovative mobile companies), travel (worked as Destination Director for off-line and online travel agencies as TUI and started-up an Online Travel Agency back in 1998), Internet companies (as Marketing-Sales Director back in/from 1996 onwards) and Internationalisation initiatives and policies (Ministry of Foreign Trade) having exerted international accountabilities and leadership for several years based from UK, USA, Germany, France, Latin American, Caribbean and Spain.
Pablo Alvarez is a regular guest lecturer at various universities and on a number of international mobile, innovation, travel-tourism, internationalisation, HR and change management conferences as keynote speaker and panellist in Europe and abroad (e.g.: World Travel Market-EyeforTravel, UK www.wtmlondon.com/page.cfm/action=Seminars/SeminarID=3/OSite=10nn6k_1852 ; ITB PhoCusWright www.phocuswright.com/phocuswright_at_itb_2009_speakers ); as well as an advisor for innovative and international companies.
A passionate traveller, he is an alumnus of Harvard Business School (USA), ESCP-EAP (France) and the TH University of Karlsruhe (Germany). At Oxford University (UK) he took Ph.D. credits on Economics, at INCAE (Costa Rica) and PUC (Brasil) he atended International Executive Education Programs.
