Kim Cascone received his formal training in electronic music at the Berklee School of Music
in the early 70's

In 1976 studied with Dana McCurdy at the New School in Manhattan. Since 1980, he has composed and released music under many monikers, includingpgr, heavenly Music Corporation, and Thessalonians, among others.
In the late 1980's, after gainig experience as an audio technician, Cascone worked with David Lynch as Assistant Music Editor on both Twin Peaks and Wild at Heart. Cascone left the film industry in 1989 to concentrate on Silent Records, a label that he founded in 1986, making it into the us's premier ambient label. He left Silent in early 1996 to pursue his interests in algorithmic composition, vrml and the Internet. He recently completed editing the audio, and writing some of the music for Obsidian, a surealist game produced by Rocket Science Games. Also, he just completed a three hour Koan piece titled Spectral Space.
