Radboud University is a public university with a strong focus on research located in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Established since 17-10-1923 and situated in the oldest city of the Netherlands, it has seven faculties and enrolls over 19,130 students.
The Radboudumc was formed in 1999 by a merger of the Academisch Ziekenhuis Nijmegen (AZN) (Academic Hospital of Nijmegen) and the medical faculty of the Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen (Catholic University of Nijmegen), now the Radboudumc Nijmegen, forming an academic health science centre. Thus, it is a semi-independent medical university and hospital, which is not directly linked to the Radboud University.
