Opening Symposium
Wednesday December 7th, 10.00 – 13.00 hrs
In this symposium Morten Schjødt (Denmark), Duncan Speakman (UK) and Florian Thalhofer (Germany) will share their thoughts on interactive film in relation to the theme ‘local truth’. For more info click here.
Public session 1 – Databased Interactive Film
Thursday December 8th, 16.00 – 17.00 hrs
Michael Murtaugh, founder of Automatist.org, will deliver the afternoon presentation. He will show and comment on various databased interactive filmprojects dealing with local truths.
Public session 2 – Emergent Narratives
Friday December 9th, 15.30 – 16.00 hrs
In the third session we will have a detailed look at emergent narratives. Related subjects such as interactive aesthetics, dramaturgy of the user, multiple stories versus one story world, and plot versus emergent narrative will be touched upon.
Public Session 3 – Cross Sections of Film and New Media
Saturday December 10th, 15.30 – 16.00 hrs
Jakob Schillinger will discuss the different types of audiences for different media, different levels of interactivity, and the strengths of different media, thereby drawing on subjects treated in the opening symposium.
Final Presentation of Interactive Films
Sunday December 11th, 17.00 – 19.00 hrs
Everyone is invited to come and see what the workshop participants came up with in the five workshop days: the best results of the Interactive Film Lab will be shown here.
All the sessions, as well as the final presentation, will take place at the Impakt venue (Oudenoord 275, Utrecht). Admission is free!
