Joan Heemskerk (born 1968) is a Dutch artist and since 1995 is part of the art collective JODI, together with Dirk Paesmans.
Joan's work circulates around digital, media and web-based art. She studied at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht and then moved to Silicon Valley with Dirk Paesmans to study internet art. Since then, JODI has experimented with different forms of digital art, with their most famous artwork being the website www.jodi.org, which consists of a mae of pages written in HTML code.
In 2022 Joan Heemskerk won the Female Artist Award of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
