Christian Nold
Artist, Lecturer, Cultural Activist
An artist, lecturer and cultural activist living in London. He studied Fine Art at Kingston University as well as Interaction Design at the Royal College of Art. In 2001, he wrote the book 'Mobile Vulgus' published by Book Works. In the recent years he has been teaching at Plymouth and South Bank universities as well as the Bartlett UCL. His long term project Bio Mapping has received international recognition with 14 exhibitions and over 25 workshops and conferences all over the globe and recently been awarded a SCIART commision. These participatory projects have a strong pedagogical basis and grew out of Christian’s formal university teaching. He is currently based at the Bartlett, University College London.
Christian will join us to discuss the Bijlmer Bank, a project commissioned by Imagine IC that examines how trust networks function in the Bijlmer area in South East Amsterdam. The aim is to develop a prototype system for an alternative local currency that could support local development and work in conjunction with the Euro.
