Next to photography, Guilherme has contributed his efforts to Hoje
è dia de Folia (http://diadefolia.blogspot.com/), an organisation
whose site boasts an array of festival snapshots, showcasing those
whose lives and culture are structured around these folk
practices.
A selection will be put on display at the Night Gallery in Sugar
Factory and will be accompanied by sound artist Andrey Ricardo de
Silva, providing a complimentary and ambient soundtrack to the
exhibition. Furthermore, street artists SjocoSjon(NL), Gais(BR) and Karski(NL) have contributed by illustrating their interpretations of the event on the walls in Sugar Factory itself.
The documentary 'Favela on Blast' will kick off the event, a piece
directed by Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Diplo, as part of a
selection of independent films assembled by Caramundo (http://
www.caramundo.nl).
And seeing as it's a Brazilian occasion, it wouldn't be complete
without the sultry sounds and bass-lines provided throughout the
event by the DJ's of Bombdiggy (http://www.bombdiggy.nl/).Entrance
is free and the doors open at 21:00!
