This chair was designed by Titia Ex who found inspiration in what the Japanese call Ma: the way to the moment of moving, or a simultaneous awareness of form and not form. The chair rests on a point and will naturally move as soon as someone sits. The user can not take place but should take place. Through the interaction, the distinction between the two and the relationship between object and subject is deactivated. The work of Titia Ex is a dialogue with the physical environment and is incomplete without it. It makes a natural connection between space, material and viewer. Space as a habitat, a living organism. This chair was kindly loaned to us by the ZETEL Foundation.

Chair
Sitting between magnified images of fungal cultures and the sterile environment of our clean room, this chair oscillates between and encompasses these two worlds.
