Some may remember Cino Cinelli for his cycling career, but most for his great contributions to cycling design. Realisations of his are the modern handlebars, the first saddle with a plastic frame, the first foot clips and the first quick release pedals.
In 1978 Cino handed the company over to a young entrepeneur in the steel tube industry, Antonio Colombo. Colombo took the brand to the future and made its innovations known to the world.
Cinelli is the only Italian bicycle to win a Compasso d'Oro in 1991. The brand is good for 28 gold medals in various Olympic Games and World Championships.
