Mediamatic opens the year on January 1, 2001 with a lecture and performance by DJ, writer and theorist Steve Goodman about the latest developments in the London's music scene. This is an introduction to an evening in the Milky Way where on January the 23rd for the first time in Amsterdam, The Bug, Roll Deep Crew and //Nasty Crew perform.
Super Salons
On Sunday, February the 8, 2004, the start of a series of new SuperSalons. Rafael Rozendaal talks about his work and the upcoming exhibition of NEEN in Eindhoven. Renzo Martens presents and clarifies his controversial film "Episode 1". Martin Butler choreographed with Martini Bros from Berlin the cult hit of 2004 "Do not count me out'' to a remix.
On Friday, April the 2nd, 2004 Mediamatic organised in honor of her move to the TPG building a SuperSalon, where all outdoor projections will be screened on the windows of the fifth floor.

During the Salon on September the 12, 2004 Oorbeek plays on the rooftop of Mediamatic Post CS. In addition, presentations of Animated Miracles, Small Town Fashion, Nepco goes United Nations.
Jewish Monument
Mediamatic Lab in 2004, develops Jewish Monument, an online community that keeps the memory alive of the Jewish victims of WWII. It is the interactive website of the Digital Monument.
Digital Monument to the Jewish Community is a memorial to some 105,000 Dutch Jews perished. The memory is kept alive by the community website, by active participation of survivors. By adding information such as family relationships, pictures or a biography a living community is created. Thus survivors themselves contribute to documentation and historiography.
Exhibition Autonomous Applications Believe
On March the 13th, 2004 the opening of the exhibition Autonomous Applications Believe of work by Yariv Alter Fin and Nezaket Ekici in the Mediamatic Supermarket. At the Mediamatic Supermarket interfaces, youism: as is, MorfMock and Burn can be seen. They allow the viewer a choice: participate actively or get carried away as a viewer in a programmed movement.
Interactive Film Workshops
In 2004 Mediamatic organises Interactive (animation) Film and Documentary workshops at various venues: the Festival Berlinale in Berlin, World Wide Video Festival in Amsterdam, Atmosferas in Lisbon, IDFA Amsterdam and the Holland Animation Film Festival in Utrecht. International film makers can use their own interactive material to make films with the use of the Korsakow system that makes it possible to experiment with film in a fast (interactive) new media context, without being hindered by the technique.
During the Holland Animation Film Festival from the 31st of October till November the 4th Mediamatic organises the workshop Interactive Animation Film. How can you use movement and space on an interactive screen? How to keep up tension and suspense when a user can change the order of the material?
On November the 22nd Mediamatic presents Docs in Orbit master. During this masterclass important authors and thinkers present their critical visions and interesting formats from the current practice of new media documentary. This master acts as the opening session for the Mediamatic/IDFA Documentary Workshop New Media. After this master class 16 documentary filmmakers pilots developed and built for their new media documentaries in the five-day workshop. The possibilities of interactive media are tested.
Mediamatic is organising a five-day Interactive Children's Film Workshop. It looks at the possibilities of interactive storytelling for children. Each participant will design and build an interactive project based on proprietary material or ideas with the Korsakow system tools.
Museum Night
On November the 6, 2004 Mediamatic joins the Mediamatic Museum Night. Kelly Dobson and Debra Solomon prepared food from the interactive kitchen to take. Boverhoff/Kamminga/Timmerarends and Tinkebell meanwhile presented their specially designed for N8 ready-to-wear collection for the winter under the supervision of the Human Workshop.
Performance Night
On December the 12 Mediamatic organises Re-Enact Performance Night. An active, hopeless night, where no less than 12 performance artists expressed their strong desire for authenticity. With performances by LA Raeven, Martin Butler and Auxraus Lars Eijssen, Nezaket Ekici, Lawrence Weiner, Yingmei Duan, Eva Meyer Keller, Mai Ueda, Natascha Hagen Brook, Daisuke Nishimura, Gerald van der Kaap, Henk van Engelen, Patrick Healey and action Terrorgruppe Schwarzen Raben.
