z is for zero

Part of an installation titled DE LITTERIS, this work is one installment in a series of works I call abecedaria. In this project letters are integral in different ways to different tasks. For readers, letters are instruments of the word. For typographers letters are elements of composition. Letters record a species memory in joy (and pain) or a street name. They mark our paths as we make non-sense of sense and visa versa. For me, the juxtaposition of alphabets and patterns creates image-objects that are able to 'think themselves' in our minds.
