Sabine and her colleagues at the Institute for Network Cultures wanted to take part in all the social network sites and evaluate them. The explosion of these services the last two years has made that practically impossible. So this was an excellent occasion to get an overview of the subject matter. It was a very good and diverse selection of presentations ranging from conceptual talks about what makes up a social network to a more practical explanation of a new tool or browser. In contrast to other participants Sabine did not have a practical goal in mind for the workshop. “For me it was not so much about how to make the navigation of a website better, but I wanted to explore various possibilities of tagging. The practical part of the workshop, the second day, worked perfect for me. You just need to be able to fantasize and associate freely in order to get a grip on the topic. It gives an extra push towards translating it to real situations."
