Designing Social Cities of Tomorrow

Presentation - Thursday February 16, 20:00

How can we make use of new media technologies in order to make our cities more social, rather than just more hi-tech? During the Designing Social Cities of Tomorrow workshop, 25 innovators from diverse national backgrounds and disciplines (architects, philosophers, engineers, and designers) will tackle four complex urban cases. Join us for the public presentation of their work.

Workshop

The cases that will be studied vary from the development of an empty space on Amsterdam's Zeeburgereiland, public space development in Eindhoven's Strijp-S, city making in The Hague's Haagse Havens, to the opportunities of digital media for civic innovation in Amsterdam. The workshop outcomes contribute to the general debate about new media and urban design.
