Joost Vrieler

I started my studies at Nijmegen University’s Faculty of Arts in 1996. I obtained a Master’s degree in the field of Dutch language and literature on the subject of literature in pamphlets from 1672. Between 2001 and 2006 I worked as a PhD student at Utrecht University. I defended my PhD thesis, The Poetic Accent. Three literary genres in seventeenth-century Dutch pamphlets, January 2007. The book deals with rhetoric strategies, literary history and poetic activism. I currently work at the Mondriaan Foundation in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
