Every country, every city, every street has its own scent, but how to catch it? An image is captured by taking a photograph but it is very difficult to isolate scent from its original context. For this edition of Odorama we invited artists Klara Ravat (ES), Zeger Reyers (NL) and Lieuwe Martijn Wijnands & Saskia Hoogendoorn (Eau d' Amsterdam) to introduce us to the art of distillation and how to capture your scented surroundings.

SmellSCAPES will be an interactive and intimate trip through the scent of Amsterdam, where the audience will be guided to experiment and sense the scented landscape.

Zeger Reyers - decomposing scents via distillation.
A live distilling demo by dutch installation artist Zeger Reyers and Q&A with the audience and Odorama curator Caro Verbeek.

Lieuwe Martijn Wijnands & Saskia Hoogendoorn - presenting Eau d' Amsterdam
A good perfume takes you to another time and place. With Eau d’Amsterdam this duo brings you to the canals of Amsterdam.
