Kanal 103

Kanal 103 was established as youth oriented, open minded media in 1991, year when huge political changes were about to happen. It was formed as a part of Macedonian National Television, but it was functioning independently, as it is functioning now. During this past 18 years of its existence Kanal 103 became the most influential cultural radio station in Skopje and wider, influencing the audience and making serious changes in the city cultural life. Taking strong avant-garde ideological side and presenting the most up-to-date alternative music, its programs covers every aspect of the youth cultural living, from playing all styles of contemporary music (indie rock, dance, experimental, jazz, contemporary classical…), to presenting news and information about film, theater, exhibitions, concerts, urban culture… Also it is involved in various other activities such as organizing various events, concerts, parties, and recently began with publishing activities, releasing music and books from young Macedonian artists. The radio is working as completely nonprofit and noncommercial radio which program is hosted by 30 volunteers.
