For this workshop, you will need:
- 1 p.p. Handouts [Workshop box / document attached at the bottom of this page]
- 1 Heat gun [Barn]
- 3 Scissors [Clean lab / office supplies drawer]
- 2 Baking trays [Kitchen]
- 1 Trash bag roll [Workshop box in Clean Lab / Dry storage]
- 2 Extension cords [Clean Lab]
- 1 Laptop #7 [Graphic Design Room - laptop closet]
The workshop box (the clear plastic storage box in the backroom of the Clean Lab) should include:
- 1 per each participant - Wooden frames 20x20 cm
- For each participant Needles and thread
- Glycerin
- Starch
- Vinegar
- Cooking pot
- Clay
- (Second) heat gun
- Glue Gun
- Pins
- Paverpol textile hardener
- 2 Brushes
- Food coloring
- 5 Medical syringes 10ml
- Textile (chiffon, umbrella’s textile, stretch textile)
Make an inventory of what’s in the box.
NOTE: Margherita brings the missing materials.
To-do list
A week before the workshop
- Check the material box and write down what is missing (clear plastic storage box in the backroom of the Clean Lab, see photo).
- Email workshop@mediamatic.nl about missing materials. The workshop team will forward the information to Margherita.
On the Friday before the workshop
- Get handouts for the participants. If you need to print out more, use paperclips to attach.
- Set up tables and chairs, each participant should be able to sit and have a working space on the table (if there aren’t enough tables, you can check the Panorama studio).
- Set up and clean white board.
- Set up TV screen for presentation (Google Drive link for presentation: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1A-pNPGBpdhCM_LPxudxvpIM1tV-BV7OW ), and connect to laptop #7.
a. Move the TV screen on the right hand side of the blackboard.
b. Connect the power cable to the extension cord in the space under the black board.
c. The correct cables should be hanging from behind the TV: HDMI/HDMI cable & HDMI/mini displayport adapter. (If not behind the TV, they can be found from the storage space behind the sliding glass doors next to the Office).
d. Connect the HDMI cable to HDMI port 4 behind the TV.
e. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the mini displayport adapter.
f. Connect the adapter to the mini displayport of the laptop.
g. On the bottom right corner of the TV screen press “SOURCE” to get to HDMI4 mode. Now you should be able share the laptop screen on the TV.
During the workshop
- Welcome participants and scan tickets.
- Help where needed.
- Take a photo of the workshop. This can be, for example, an overview photo, a photo of the product, or a photo of the participants. When taking photos of participants, remember to ask for permission.
