The Locative Lab is all about seeing the world as a stage, but in this Lab you are not merely a player, but the director creating new city experiences.
Everywhere around you there’s hidden information. Personal stories and memories, historical and cultural backgrounds, demographics, social relationships and all kinds of other information. Something has occurred on every street corner, every tile on every street has been numerously stepped upon, and every brick can claim its own history. Big events happening right now all over the city or quiet past occurrences, forgotten neighborhoods, old trails or lost monuments most persons are not ever aware of.
The internet has evolved from a collection of static pages to an indispensable source of information and social meeting place and is now making its way into public space through your mobile phone. In addition your phone can make online interaction location specific based on your GPS location, supports rich content en lets you create and upload media yourself.
So taking into account the possibilities of the city and technology what are the ingredients for an engaging mobile city experience?
Come to the Locative Lab to design and test out new concepts in a hands-on fashion using locative media platform 7scenes and exchange experiences. You’ll be working in teams and pitch your final group concept to a jury.
The Locative Lab is held on two days with two different focusses: education and cultural heritage.
