The Dutch landscape clearly shows the tension between our longing for nature and our wish to tame it. Natural processes like erosion have been artificially halted on the orderly, motionless polders.

Artists Elodie Hiryczuk and Sjoerd van Oevelen explore the vulnerability of the land in Perspective of Disappearance, the guest programme of Virtueel Museum Zuidas in Platform21.

In the exhibition space, a path follows the uneven topography of an invisible landscape. In the centre of the room, visitors ascend to higher ground, where a miniature green environment has been eroded by dripping water.
