This conversation is part of Mostly It Happens At Night, the first curatorial project of Flatstation, Amsterdam Bijlmer. Curators Maaike Gouwenberg (NL) and Sandra van Dongen (NL) challenged nine artists to integrate, infiltrate or confront the visible and invisible networks in the Bijlmer.
Artists: Marcel van den Berg, Daniela Bershan & Jonas Ohlsson, Maurice Bogaert, Constant Dullaart, Quinsy Gario, Regina Kelaita, Anne Schiffer and Pilvi Takala.
The guest speakers are invited to discuss on the development of new ways for (visual) artists to present or even create their work on the internet. New technologies, new (social networking) applications and locative media create possibilities for artists and designers to find new platforms and new audiences for their artistic practices.
The project is an experiment and research on how artists present their work in physical and virtual space with the Bijlmer as the starting point of their works. During a 10-day presentation period, which starts on 19 February, nine wonderful artists will discuss and try out possible ways of working in de Bijlmer and on the internet.
From 19 February on, Mostly It Happens At Night presents art, films, music, performances and a nice meal every night at Flatstation. All of this will culminate in a Bijlmer style party on Saturday 28 February. Join us at Florijn 42 in the Bijlmer or on the Internet.
