ArtUnit

ArtUnit was launched in 2004. This window-gallery is an initiative of Chrystl Rijkeboer, who is an artist herself. ArtUnit is a contemporary art gallery which encourages artists in their art practices, explorations and experimentation by offering them an alternative place to show their work in the city centre of Haarlem. At the beginning of 2008 Chrystl Rijkeboer started a collaboration with Sandra Roozen. By doing so ArtUnit now has two locations. ArtUnit#1 is located at 9 Smedestraat (near the ‘Grote Markt’) and ArtUnit#2 is located at 14 Tuchthuisstraat (behind the ‘Botermarkt’). Both window galleries are in the historic city centre of Haarlem.

As from January 1st 2011, ArtUnit has changed its concept. ArtUnit#1 stays the exhibition window as before. At ArtUnit#2 we’ll show in one window. For this exhibition space we ask the showing artist to bring small work or multiples, with a maximum selling price of €350,- (incl. tax and selling provision). The work will be, as before, shown in this window the whole month. But...we will be open for sale, every first Saturday afternoon. The exhibition dates has been changed as well. Shows will run from - until every first Monday of each month.
