In the morning there's a delicious breakfast waiting for you at the favela restaurant. With a farm-fresh glass of milk from our cow Els and tea with fresh mint from the aquaponics farm. The toilet is right around the corner from your bed and you can use the camping style shower, made with a jerrycan and shower head. You can get a guided tour through the favela and aquaponics farm, and participate in a yoga class or other workshops organized by favela citizens.
Our first guest, Martin Suba from the Czech Republic, spend a wonderful weekend in the Hot Love Nest. "I felt there like at home, no barriers, inspired among beautiful people, their passion and projects. I was pleasently surprised by tiny details, overall DIY simplicity, that everything works without spending a fortune, and by a scientific approach mixed with a lot of love and fun. The whole stay was an adventure. I loved the service and breakfast. Everyone was like a family, from the greetings, introduction tour and maps with personal notes, to the end."

Costs: €50 for the first night, €30 for following nights. Including breakfast and a valid Club Mediamatic membership (€5,- for 4weeks). Freezing Favela
Freezing Favela is a temporary city at Mediamatic Fabriek. The space is big, unheated, and the roof leaks. Designers, cooks, and other makers have claimed part of this space as their own. In the Favela you can make tosti's from scratch, bricks from old newspapers, furniture from cardboard, and cook with ingredients from the aquaponics farm. Favela-citizens give workshops and organize events and meals. We're open every Wednesday and Sunday from 1pm to 6pm at the very least.
