Maarten Dekkers has his first solo exhibition in gallery SANAA. It shows an effect of a research with key terms as comparison, grid, frame, carrier, relations. For his newest work the young artist from Utrecht used one chair as motive. Central in his work is a single (expressive) action, which he tries to get hold of by capturing this action. He researches the lines relative to each other and relative to the frame. Sometimes he adds a grid, on the one hand to objectify the action, on the other hand to influence it. “It’s about capturing the essence, this essence is only always moving.”
