Abramovic has been making performances, video and film since 1973, the majority in collaboration with Ulay. Their most recent work involved walking the length of The Great Wall of China. Their exhibition. The Lovers was shown at the Stedelijk and other European galleries in 1989.
Edge 90 commission: Boat Emptying Stream Entering - a solo performance developed from the Great Wall of China walk. Five pythons symbolising five elements will be placed on the artists head and will move, following the energy of her body.
