Winner of New Bar of the Year and Cocktail List of the Year at the 2007 NZ Bar Awards. Character, style and service are the defining points behind the Hawthorn Lounge. Based on a gentlemen’s retreat, the Hawthorn is an oasis from the hustle of downtown. Opened mid-2006 by brothers who wanted to share their vision of a public living room, The Hawthorn has all the grace one would expect from the 1920s.

Big band music complements the nattily attired staff who are amongst some of the best cocktail bartenders in the country, priding themselves on their fine liquor selection and relaxed professional service. The Hawthorn is a destination bar. Big band and leather may not be for everyone but those who appreciate the finer qualities will adore the Hawthorn.
