Trouble in the Backyard // David Shillinglaw

The London based artist David Shillinglaw will be causing TROUBLE IN THE BACKYARD, the next 3 months. As part of the literature festival De Wintertuin, he will be working live on May 29th and 30th. David Shillinglaw mixes images, objects and installations with which he illustrates the chaotic exchange between individuals and their tangible surroundings. With this he investigates ideas of identity and the mystery of the human condition. Much of the work includes the human body, in the form of a complex anatomical diagram or naive as stick figures. Inspired by the ancient mythology in addition to the popular culture creating a dialogue between history and the present. The official opening will be on June 5th and can be visited 24/7 at the BACKYARD of SHOWROOM ARNHEM.
