Jan Jedenak was born in Goslar/Germany and has lived in Stuttgart since October 2012. He studied puppetry at the Figure Theatre Department of State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. While studying Theatre-, Film- and Media sciences at University of Vienna he worked as trainee and director's assistent for Festival Schloss Neersen (GER), Max Reinhardt Seminar Vienna (AUT), Landestheater Coburg (GER), Schlossfestspiele Ettlingen (GER) and several other institutions. In 2008 he founded the theatre collective Dekoltas Handwerk with whom he staged „No exit“ by Jean-Paul Sartre (2009), „Under Milk Wood“ by Dylan Thomas (2011), the object theatre play „Creation of uncanny matter“ (2012) and /SÉANCE/ Sequences interpreting the invisible (2015) Trickster -Catch me if you can! (2017) IMPRINT [imagine absence] (2019).
Since 2011 he has continued working as a freelance theatre director and puppeteer collaborating with artist of various backgrounds such as music, dance, performing arts and puppetry creating productions for national and free theater.
