Sylvia Paull specialises in publicity and strategic marketing services for high-tech businesses and organisations.

These have included Ask Jeeves, CNET, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Wired Magazine. In 1994, she founded the Berkeley Cybersalon, a well-known monthly forum for discussing the impact of technology on culture. Later in 1995, she founded Gracenet, an international group promoting women in hightech, which called attention to sexist advertising in high-tech media through a campaign ÔhonouringÕ the monthly winner with a 'DisGraceful Award in Advertising'. She was formerly Marketing Director for Software Ventures; co-producer of Science Editor, a CBS radio show about science; and a freelance writer for Wired. Her first PR coup was the slogan, 'A WomanÕs Place Is on Top', which helped finance the first all-women American expedition to Annapurna I, in Nepal. She is currently on the advisory board of BlogHer, the first women's blogging conference.
