Raul Marroquin, artist born in Bogota (1948) studies: Escuela de Bellas Artes Universidad Nacional 1967 - 1971 Bachellor. Jan van Eijk Academie Maastricht (The Netherlands) 1971 - 1974 Master.

Raul Marroquin has been working with video since 1968 considered one of the pioneers of video art in Europe.

Founder of Fandanagos Magazine Maastricht (1971 - 1975)

His work forms part of public and private collections in Europe, the Americas, Australia, Korea and Japan: Museum of Modern Art New York, Centre Pompidou Paris, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Museo de Arte Contemporaneo Bogota, Bonnefanten Museum Maastricht, etc.

During the past 3 years Marroquin has concentrated in mobile media producing his works with video phones only and distributing them via Bluetooth and MMS.

In 1990 Marroquin founded De Hoeksteen Live! Television a monthly 12 hour long Live television program concentrating in politics, finances, culture and communications.

On Thursday September 27 Hoeksteen / CornerStone produced a live edition from PicNic, on Picnic, from the Ketelhuis in Amsterdam 14:00 - 16:00, the live television special was cablecasted by Amsterdam Cable Television Salto A1 for Amsterdam's Metropolitan Area, streamed by De Balie and DDS, telecasted and retrasmited in Second Life.
