As he was born in 1961, that now makes him...Eh, anyway.
After finishing his studies in Art History and Psychology at the University of Amsterdam he followed up on his fascination with audio-visual media. Although he specialised in Video Art, his interests included both older media (like the stereoscope and viewmaster) as well as developments in new media.
For several years he curated work from media artists for a number of festivals. In 1993 he joined Mediamatic Magazine to become its managing editor He had known Mediamatic right from its beginning, when its main focus shared his, the experiments of artists using video.
Anyway, although he still has a lot of extra-curricular activities (he still curates and writes for festivals, produced a few websites for them, is involved in TV programmes etc.) his main activities at Mediamatic have become editorial.
As an editor he was involved in the production of both Website Graphics (1997) and Website Graphics Now (1999).
