Robin Brouwer (Alkmaar, NL, 1960) lectured contemporary philosophy and semiotics at the University of Amsterdam (UvA).
He initiated the interdisciplinary Institute at the University of Amsterdam.
Using Deleuze/Guattari theory as point of departure its activities are aimed at connecting contemporary theory with the actual developments in fine art, architecture and theatre.
He has been involved in several national and international art projects as theorist and curator and also lectured at the Rietveld Academy of fine arts in Amsterdam.
As the director of gallery Podion in Amsterdam he integrated theory in the art shows by organizing lectures and debates. He investigates the relationship between theoretical concepts and praxis, between object and connotation. In How To Live Somebody Else's Life he worked as theoretic and helped establishing and realizing the proejct. He also interviewed the participants as an integral part of the process.
