Reona started his Global Identity project in 2002. The art included in the project takes many forms, varying from painting, drawing and sculpture to text, video and sound. Individuals contribute pieces that other participants connect, communicate, and reinterpret. Each contribution is numbered, and all the pieces are linked directly or indirectly. One participant interprets a piece made by another, and uses it as a starting point to produce a new piece of work. By continuing this procedure, all pieces will be connected, directly or indirectly, which is the basic idea.
At Reona's website reona.org you can view the work in progress. It is a platform of interconnected art. He searches for the common denominator or sharable factor that connects all the seemingly conflicting beliefs and sensitivities by recording the forming relationships and communication between individuals, which can result in misunderstanding or disagreement. The whole act of connecting and opening up a dialogue between people is itself the art - a big picture that represents his answer to postmodernity.
