What you will do
Medieval abbess Hildegard von Bingen invited joy and happiness into daily routine to ward off melancholy, wrath and empty-headedness. Wine featured strongly in Hildegard's remedies due to its availability at the time and its medicinal properties as a tonic. This workshop explores Hildegardian joy through wine. EnJOY a summer afternoon designing and creating with wine and medicinal herbs, dressed in your finest heirloom clothes and jewelry.
Tamara Last
Her emerging herbology practice is motivated by a desire to (re)connect adults with the wild and nurture in children a profound and gentle connection to the natural world. She integrates her work as a birth doula, a gardener, a cook, a craft-maker, a mother, an event organiser and an interdisciplinary social scientist. Foraging developed as an inevitable consequence of spending so much time with plants. The more untamed the plant, the more it called her attention.
