The overall aim of Butterfl y Works is
to ‘Liberate the maker’ in individuals
everywhere. This, in order that they
(re)claim power over their own lives
and initiate and bring to fruit their
personal potential.

This overall vision enables people
to make the personal contribution
which they, as a unique individual
have to offer the world.

For instance:

Last July Butterfl y Works was in Morocco
to join Bureau EAST, an international
team composed by Aziza Chaouni and
Takako Taji. Together we received the
prestigious Global Holcim Awards Gold
2009.

Butterfl y Works will be collaborating
with Bureau EAST to co-create plans with
regard to central role of the crafts culture
into the future, within the Medina.

The project which aims to reinvent the
Medina of Fez, was selected from over
5000 plans worldwide. The core of this
concept is to reintegrate the main river
as the central lifeline of the medina and
the city’s urban infrastructure.
