New technologies like location based media make it possible to redesign the city. The city transforms into a hybrid space in which the physical and digital space come together. This is central in the work of Michelle Teran (Canada). Her performances and interventions intertwine the urban and medial space and focus on the (social, cultural) dynamic they cause. An example: the Black Leather Projection Purse, a purse with a built-in projector she uses to project (live) video in the public space.
Michelle Teran received this year the prestigious Transmedial Award (Berlin) for digital media.
