The central focus of Exodus into the New Wild will be an exploration of aspects of confinement inherent in structures of 'ready-made adventures' that exist within the world of tourism. The artists have organized several bustours, that will take visitors from several locations in Rotterdam, The Hague, Amsterdam, Harlem and Hoorn to the exhibitionspace in the MariaChapel. These bustrips will be of a performative nature, and prepare their passengers to the themes used in the exhibition.

The second part of the project is the exhibition in Hotel MariaKapel, showing the work the artists made during their stay at the HMK-residency. The artists will work collectively to research the 'Club Med' phenomenon , which appears to immediately contradict existing stereotypes of the creativity of the solipsistic artist 'in the wild'. The participating artists work within several disciplines, such as video, conceptual art, sculpture and graphic design. As a group they share a similar attitude towards making art, but their work varies greatly. This project forms a first collaboration between the participating artists.

Organized grouptours and opening

The two organized bustours take place on Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st of November. The opening of the exhibition will take place after the first organized bustour, on Saturday the 20th of November, from 6 PM in the MariaChapel.
