The Facing Pages Programme packed with independent magazines. Renowned international magazine makers will give lectures on the past and future of print media, the business side of running a magazine, digital magazines, design, typography and more. Besides this extensive programme for professionals there is something for everybody: elaborate exhibitions, short magazine presentations, a party and more. Some parts of the programme can even be attended for free.

Programme Highlights symposium
Simon Esterson (Eye Magazine) shares his vision on decisive moments in the history of the magazine, from the 60s to the 90s, while magazine expert Jeremy Leslie (MagCulture) will fill us in on the present and future of the magazine. Carolien Vader gives her philosophical insight as the Magazine Doctor into reaching the right readership, and on top of that there are lectures by: Little White Lies, LUSTlab, Studio Room, Laura Meseguer, It’s Nice That and others. There will also be live presentations by magazines Der Wedding, Slanted, Kutgitaar and Strak, among others.

Exhibitions
A big crowd sourced exhibition displays hundreds of magazines that are normally kept hidden deeply underground. Never before has such a large collection of magazines been brought together. Guest curator Charlotte Cheetham (Manystuff) will also provide an exhibition of her own in which she, together with designers and magazine makers, critically examines the content of various independent magazines.

Facing Pages at Night
Facing Pages has an extensive evening programme. Friday Night is an evening of varied entertainment with readings and performances by Martijn Brugman, Dennis Gaens, Mytron, Jaap Blonk, DJ Vijand in Eindhoven and Lorenzo Borella.

On Saturday night a big party is organized by party collective Dagschotel. With: Palmbomen, Wilco, Hollywood & Vine, Dagschotel DJ-set, Dollkraut + Rik Payne, Pim Schrier en Le Voyage/Juxtapose.
