Now in its second year the Playful Arts Festival is a four-day festival with games, performances, installations, exhibitions, workshops, lectures and special events focused on playful arts. The festival draws together international artists, designers, curators, performers and the general audience for four days to explore the cross-overs of art, play and social interaction.
With the theme Urban Play, Playful Arts Festival invites game designers, artists and others to submit games that can be played on the streets of the city or interactive artworks that stimulate social interaction between people on the street.
We are interested in all kinds of play, ranging from pop-up play, to playground games to spectacle games to moments of quiet reflection.
The games & artworks should be able to run during the day throughout the festival (Thu-Sun). A registration of the games & artworks can be included in the exhibition after the festival at the WII.

The Playful Arts Festival is a collaboration between zo-ii and bART/DW (bART will become WOT from June). Partners are Stedelijk Museum ’s-Hertogenbosch, Poppodium W2, Grafisch Atelier, Glow Music and Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht. PAF is sponsored by Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie, WII Fabriek, SNS REAAL Fonds, VSBfonds and the municipality of ’s-Hertogenbosch.
