This edition of Biotalk we will take the position of the artist as gatherer. The modern day bio-scavenger who conduct his research onsite and meticulously browses his environment for unique properties and versatility. What can be found in the cracks of old Amsterdam buildings, the volcanic areas in Iceland or on board of an industrial fishing ship? And how to re-contextualise the often overlooked attributes of dust particles, extremophiles or by-catch?

Talks by: Pavel van Houten, Xandra van der Eijk and Arjanne Bode.

Opening Exhibition: Stofpluizen

This day also marks the opening of the temporary exhibition: Stofpluizen. A collection of dust that was collected here at our Biotoop. By magnifying the results you are able to see the beautiful shapes and colours of the dust particles and gain insight into is composition. The dust samples were sent to a laboratory in order to determine it's consistence. And guess what.. one of the samples holds a mystery particle! Which still needs to be defined.
