What will you do
During the workshop you will create and develop your unique fragrance. You will be introduced to, and learn to be familiar with 20 different aroma-molecules. You will learn how they smell and to which olfactory family they belong to. Once we are familiar with the molecules, and how to describe them, you will acquire information on the basics of how to design and mix scent. The purpose is to create and develop your unique fragrance, each participant will compose one fragrance inspired by their concept. At the end of the workshop you will take home 15ml bottle of your scent and a very excited nose!
About Klara
Klara Ravat (Berlin, Germany) is an olfactory artist and an experimental filmmaker. After studying qualitative trend research in Barcelona, Klara moved to The Netherlands where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (ArtScience at The Royal Academy of Arts). At the same time she studied Psychology at the Open University of Catalonia. Klara is the co-founder of the Smell Lab, a community project that focuses on the investigation and practice of the art and science of the sense of smell. During 2016-2017 she is an artist in residency at Mediamatic and in 2017 she teamed up with the Institution for Art and Olfaction to co-produce the first Experimental Scent Summit, hosted in Berlin. By opposing the division between the realm of memory and the realm of experience, she absorbs the tradition of remembrance art into daily practice.
