Rio meets New York at Miam Miam, a very cool restaurant in Botafogo, near the Rio Sul mall. Go to Miam Miam (French for ‘yum yum’) to get a feel for the hip side of this South American city. Make yourself comfy on one of the ‘70s vintage chairs and couches, which, like all the furniture and decorations in the restaurant, including the formica tables, are for sale. The owners’ flair for artsy décor and creative cuisine are evident in the ambiance—an eclectic soundtrack plays in the background—and the ever-changing menu filled with surprising combinations of traditional and tropical.
