Natuur in Noord

Following centuries of control over nature and water, people of The Netherlands are finally realizing you can overdo control, neatness and design. Slowly pieces of land are overgrowing again. The Dutch call it nature and use it for recreation. Here you can see a boat gliding over the canal off the IJ and in the vicinity of the ecological zone Schellingwoude. With the right camera angle, you can almost picture yourself far away from the busy city, when in fact you’re right in the middle of it. ‏‪Na eeuwen van toenemende controle over de natuur en het water begint Nederland zich te realiseren dat je ook te ver kunt gaan met controle, netheid en vormgeving. Voorzichtig verwilderen stukjes land weer. Nederlanders noemen het dan natuur en receëren daar. Hier een trekboot over een kanaal aan het IJ in de buurt van de ecologische zone Schellingwoude.
