Join our workshop now and start growing your own edible Oyster Mushrooms. In our inflatable cleanroom we will teach you the basic skills to get started.
Trainer
Maurizio Mantalti is a designer concerned with a thorough, trans-disciplinary, research-based practice. His work addresses social and environmental challenges. Using design and art as tools he investigates and reflects upon contemporary culture.
His current fascination lies in living systems and organisms. Design Studio Officina Corpuscoli is one of the partners leading the 'Myco Design Lab". Together with Utrecht Universiteit and Stichting Mediamatic they research and develop new fungal based materials.
Mediamatic Bio Industry
This event is part of Mediamatic Bio Industry, a broad techno-cultural lab exploring the possibilities of fungal and other bio-based materials for design, science and art. Scientist, artists, designers, architects, and the public, investigate together how to make use of the promising characteristics of mycelium – Potentially the plastic of the 21st century.
Information and cost
The workshop takes place at the Mediamatic Fabriek, VOC-kade 10, Amsterdam on Thursday 26 June from 19:00 to 21:30 hours. The workshop will be given in English. Tickets are € 25 inc.
