Databased storytelling with Korsakow
In these workshops we focus on the practical and conceptual possibilities as well as the aesthetics of online interactive databased media projects. Participants use their own footage to make an online interactive project. Workshop projects could range from cinematic issue spaces to collaborative documentary video blogs or from educational quizzes to interactive radioplays.
In one form or another, the players of such a project enter a dialogue with it. The partcipants to these workshops explore how to integrate the viewer's presence in a meaningful way. The Korsakow System serves as the main developing tool.
Approach and outlines
Each Film Lab holds a specific theme, for instance: political documentaries, children’s film or dance film. The themes are mostly related to the festival in which context the workshop is organized.
Participants bring their own media material, related to the theme, and are assisted personally by experienced trainers on both a practical and conceptual level in realizing their workshop projects. The workshops take an interdisciplinary approach: knowledge and practices from film, tv, radio and new media are integrated. A generic day-by-day outline of the workshop can be found here.
