Creating Interactive Artworks with Isadora: The three-day workshop will focus on creating interactive performance, installation and VJ sets using Isadora (www.troikatronix.org/isadora.html), a real-time media manipulation tool that has become the software of choice for hundreds of artists worldwide. Taught by Mark Coniglio (creator of Isadora and Artistic Co-Director of multimedia performance group Troika Ranch), the participants will learn to use Isadora's flexible building blocks to present and manipulate video and sound in real-time. Coniglio will then build upon this knowledge by showing how external sensory systems can allow performers or viewers to interactively control the media with gestures or vocalizations. All workshop participants will receive a three-month temporary license for the software so that they may continue their exploration after the workshop concludes.

Course cost: €150
Location: STEIM, Achtergracht 19, Amsterdam
Places are limited to 12.

Registration is required for this workshop. Please register early to ensure a place. Registrations can only be done through the STEIM website: www.steim.org/steim/workshops.php

There will be a discount of €50 (on the total cost for both workshops) for participants who also attend the SuperCollider 3 workshop that takes place from Jan 28 - Feb 1.

Participants will ideally have some background in creating media-intensive artworks. An understanding of how to capture video and/or audio using software like Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Premiere, or Windows Movie Maker will benefit the participants as they integrate their own digital media into the process, though it is not required.

Participants are required to bring their own computer (see below for minimum requirements). If this is not possible, please let us know and we can see what we can do to accommodate you.

The workshop will take place from Monday February 11 through Thursday morning February 14. Included is an afternoon with special STEIM presentations on junXion, LiSa and the junXionboard to place Isadora in a STEIM context.
