Entries will be reviewed based on quality of portfolios, and potential competitors will be invited to a 15-minute test round in order making it through to the live city tournaments. If selected, North American designers will compete across the continent in Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco, Toronto, New York City, Boston, or Chicago beginning in February 2009. European competitors will compete in subsequent months in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona, and Milan, after which Cut&Paste will bring its tour to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Sydney. All the live competitions are streamed online to a global audience.
From each city three winners (2d, 3d en motion design)—forty-eight winners in all—will converge in New York City in June 2009 for the first-ever Cut&Paste Global Championship. One Grand Prize winner from each category in each city (48 in total) will receive an expenses-paid trip to New York City for the Global Championships. (For a complete list of prizes, visit the Cut & Paste website.
The Cut&Paste Digital Design Tournament will take place in Amsterdam, on April 2nd 2009 at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. For more information on The Digital Design Tournament 2009 and updates on judges, competitors, tour dates, cities, and event programming check out the Cut and Paste website.
