Ariën van Lavieren (1967) graduated with a “Bachelor of fine arts” degree from both the Royal Academy of the Arts in The Hague 1989-1993 (Subjects: painting, drawing, lithography & woodcut) and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam 1993-1994 (Subjects: lithography, etching, silkscreen & woodcut).
In 1992 he received the Erasmus Scholarship to study at the Academy of Arts in Kiel (Germany) and he participated in a Master class from Prof. Markus Lüpertz.
He was engaged in several solo and group exhibitions and art projects throughout the Netherlands and abroad.
His travels to India, Sri Lanka, Canada (Montréal), Bolivia, Chili, Peru and Ecuador are an inspiration for his works.
He is currently based in Amsterdam.
